SHOP MANAGER – Exchange St Dundee

The Shop Managers key role is to ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day running of the shop
responsible for the delivery of a consistently high-quality service and standards. Responsibility for
maximizing sales by liaising with customers, working with the shop owners, creating, planning and
promoting special offers, actively promoting the shop and its products on social media and through
varying marketing and publicity campaigns. To source and promote new products, update and
ensure effective shop displays, produce information and advice to customers.

Responsibilities
 Assist the owners with the day to day running of the shop and juice counter, multi-tasking and
using your own initiative responding effectively to the needs of our customers and
business
 Ensure a friendly welcome to all customers, assisting them as required and
helping/advising them to select the products they are looking for and be free to share
knowledge and offer advice on individual food items
 Ordering of stock and keeping an eye on stock control
 Receive, check and put away all deliveries
 Maintain accurate signage and pricing
 Proactively promote the shop and juice counter through social media and other
publicity/marketing methods
 Ensure all displays are maintained and looking fresh and appealing at all times
 Maintain a record of customer requests and source new products
 Ensure shop displays and shelves are clean and well stocked at all times
 Follow all health and safety/sanitisation procedures and adhere to safe working
practices and the shops Food Safety Assurance System
 Maintain the store cupboard in good order
 Uphold the standards of organic and fairtrade foods
 Any other duties or projects as required by the owners to ensure the generally smooth and
efficient operation of the shop and development of the company

Other Relevant Details
 You are required to dress appropriately – smart/comfy/casual – and to look well presented at
all times. We will supply you with a company logo tee shirt to be worn at all times and an apron
will be supplied for when you are working at the juice counter. You may wear the apron when
on duty, if preferred
 Your working hours will be between 25 and 35 each week or 3-4 days. We will do our best to
accommodate requests for time off etc. providing sufficient notice is given
 You will be required to be a key holder for the purpose of opening and closing the shop as and
when required. The key is for your use only and must never be handed to another person. If
you misplace/loose your keys please notify the owners immediately
 You will be required to work in the shop on your own at times
